Day 1: Debrief & Departure

We meet at the modern side of Lisbon, Parque das Nacoes. The skipper will show you the boat and, all together, decide how the space will be shared and where can you accommodate your belongings. A safety briefing will be given and everyone should know where the safety and emergency equipment are located and how to deploy and handle them (first aid kits, life-vests, harnesses, life rafts, beacon, etc). Every one should know how to turn on and off and operate the boat engine. When everyone is ready, we'll hoist the sails on the Tagus (Tejo) river and head up to the Atlantic Ocean. In between you can enjoy all the 7 hills of Lisbon from the river side, Vasco da Gama bridge, the downtown, Praça do Comercio (Terreiro do Paço), Cais do Sodre, Alcantara, Almada, 25 de Abril bridge, The King Christ (Cristo Rei), Belem Tower (Torre de Belem), Padrao dos Descobrimentos, Bugio lighthouse (Forte de Sao Lourenço or Farol do Bugio), Forte de Sao Juliao da Barra, Seixa Palace (Palacio de Seixas) and many other POIs and neighborhoods which will be on our sight. Once on the Atlantic Ocean we'll head up south. From now on, earth elements will be your mate and that's something! Note: this leg starting time is dependent on tides. We'll start with the ebbing tide.

Day 2: Arrive and rest in Lagos

On the way to Lagos, we will be surrounded by sea water. No more stopovers. A more than 20 hours trip where you'll learned how to live on sailing boat with a crew while on a passage. Short but intense. This is the perfect experience for those which never did a night passage but are willing to. You learn how to plan the trip, how to do shifts, how to trim the sails and helm the boat, how to handle the electronics and VHF communications, about security procedures, night navigations, cooking and cleaning (yes, it's part of the job) as well as maintaining the boat. This is a compact but intense experience. After a full day and night at open waters, we'll dock at Lagos Marina.
