From Lisbon to Azores

€5880 €5349

per 7 days adventure for 4 persons

Regardless of what activities you’re into, if you love being outdoors, the Azores is a dream destination and have no shortage of breathtaking spots to check out. Join us on this overwhelming adventure!

The Azores are nine volcanic islands situated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Because they are so remote, mass tourism is non existent and nature is unspoiled.

Regardless of what activities you’re into, if you love being outdoors, the Azores is a dream destination. The hills and mountains are covered with grass, Japanese Cedars, Hydrangeas, Ginger Lilies and many other trees and flowers. The contrast with the blue of the sky and the lakes or ocean is incredible! It’s also known for whale watching and has excellent snorkeling and diving too. Biking or hiking around some of the villages, hills, cliffs and beaches is the best way to explore. Speaking of beaches, there’s plenty of them on the nine different islands. Some are rocky and many have black sand  (and get ready for some sweet waves if you plan to surf).

The Poça da Dona Beija or Terra Nostra hot springs on the island of Sao Miguel offer the ultimate relaxation: outdoor, geothermally heated pools of groundwater coming from the Earth’s crust. Although they might smell a bit funky because of the iron in the water, bathing in these is actually great for your skin.

But the Azores have no shortage of breathtaking spots to check out. One of the most incredible is a giant volcanic crater that spans three miles, named the Sete Cidades.

Foodies are affordable and will delight in different cuisine found on all the islands of the Azores, but a fan favorite is definitely the cheese made on the island of Sao Jorge.

TagusLovers offer several other destinations from Sao Miguel to other islands in Azores as well as back to Lisbon. Make sure you find them on our web site or contact us.

Marina Parque das Nacoes address:
Edifício da Capitania
Passeio de Neptuno

Latitude 38º45'22''N

To get to Marina Parque das Nacoes from the city center/Praça do Comércio (9km/5.5miles away):
By bus: There is a bus stop near the harbor (100m), the one close to the Repsol gas station. From the city center or from Belém, you can take bus #728 or #781.
By car (cab, Uber, Cabify, Taxify, MyTaxi, Chauffeur Prive or other): use the given address.

Besides these options, Parque das Nacoes has the biggest all-transportation station in the city: The "Gare do Oriente", "Orient Station" or just "Oriente". "Gare do Oriente" is a 20-minute walk from Marina Parque das Nacoes.
All public transportation options are located here: taxi, subway, bus, and train.

Bus: Numbers 5, 10, 19, 21, 28, 50, 68, 81, 82, 85 will take you everywhere!

Train: The "Alfa pendular", "Intercidades", "Inter-regional" or "Regional" will connect "Oriente" to both north and south of the country, as well as the urban line to everywhere in Lisbon and border cities.

For your smart phone, we suggest you use Rome2Rio (for all forms of public transportation) and MetroLX (subway) mobile applications. They are free and work pretty well in Lisbon.
